Lena always felt a connection with horses, as though they shared a secret language. Growing up in the vast countryside, her parents never could afford to buy her one. When she turned sixteen, using the savings she'd accumulated from odd jobs around the village, she bought a young, wild stallion named Starfire.

From the outset, Starfire was a challenge. He was strong-willed, fiery, and resisted any attempt at control. Most in the village declared that he was untrainable, and some even called him dangerous.
